My family is in Alabama. When I completed my school and residency, I knew that I wanted to be closer to family, and I knew that UAB was the only place to work if I wanted to maintain a highly clinical practice in a teaching environment

One thing I would tell a pharmacist interested in UAB?
Being a part of the University Hospital is great because you get to interact with students, residents and fellows in all fields of healthcare, which teaches them the value of working with a pharmacist when caring for patients.

Tell about one event while working at UAB that has changed you?
My practice is continually changing based on things I learn everyday. We use the latest technology and work with attending at the top of their practice.

What are some characteristics of a UAB Pharmacist?
Hard working, dedicated, able to work with all types of people and patients to improve patient care, constantly trying to be the best pharmacist you can be, very supportive of other pharmacists and staff

What has surprised you the most about the support you've received as a Pharmacist?
Even people you don't know well will pitch in to help if you have a problem or question regarding patient care. I may not be the oncology pharmacist, but I sure know who to call!

Why stay here in Birmingham?
It is a great place to raise and family. It has the benefits of a big city and but a small town feel.

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would it be?
Macaroni and cheese

One book on my bedside table?
The Happiest Toddler on the Block- I haven't picked it up in a while, but at least I made an effort!

What I do when I'm not at work?
Sleep!

One goal you'd like to accomplish during your lifetime?
I would like to skydive!

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I have always loved the French culture - the language, art and food!

My unique or quirky habit?
I twirl my hair, especially when I am concentrating

If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be?
easygoing, straightforward, strong

I don't know what boredom is- I have a toddler
