ASHP - Accredited Pharmacy Residency
The ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency program at UAB Hospital began in 1970 and has the distinction of being one of the country's first. We are committed to providing the resident with real-world experience in an environment that is both stimulating and challenging.
Training with a Preceptor
Our preceptors are highly committed practitioners that are eager to share their knowledge and experiences with the resident. Our goal is to develop a highly skilled practitioner that will be successful in any setting they choose to practice after graduation.
Success of the UAB Pharmacy Resident
Many of our resident graduates continue to practice here at UAB. Others have gone on to other hospitals, become college professors, and even opened their own business. Some have become directors, clinical coordinators, hospital administrators, and held other leadership roles. Many are very active in the profession of pharmacy, serving as officers in local, state, and national professional organizations.
